About Miriad

Our mission is to build sovereign industrial capability for autonomous systems with a national technology base, design authority developed and retained in Spain, manufacturing and sustainment on national territory throughout the whole life cycle, and interoperability with Spanish, European and allied systems.

Miriad Global takes part in R&D and capability programs run by the Ministry of Defense and the European Defence Fund (EDF), works with the European Defence Agency (EDA), and is an accredited NATO entity. That position anchors the group in national and European capability planning and in the allied supply chain. On that foundation, Miriad cooperates with European and international primes and integrates third-party payloads on its platforms: sovereignty over the critical layers is what makes that openness possible, not its opposite.

Our manifesto

Spain and Europe face the robotisation of the force with the same choice: import the capability or build it. We exist to build it.

  • We believe a country that does not design its own defence systems ends up operating someone else's

(with their lead times, their conditions and their strings attached). That is why we design and manufacture in Spain: the intellectual property, the critical electronics, the software and the skilled jobs stay here, throughout the whole life cycle.

  • We believe in one architecture, every mission.

We do not build standalone vehicles: we build a modular family that shares platform, electronics, software and intelligence (where each system inherits from the previous one and no capability dies with its programme).

  • We believe designing is half the job, and manufacturing is the other half.

Prototypes, subsystems and components come out of our own plants, and scale-up is done with Spanish industrial partners — because a capability that cannot be produced or sustained on your own territory is not a capability: it is a dependency.

  • We believe sovereignty is not isolation.

We build for Spain, for Europe and for our allies: open architectures, NATO standards and interfaces that integrate third-party payloads and sensors onto our platforms. Owning the critical layers is precisely what allows us to open them.

  • We believe autonomy proposes and command decides.

Our systems accelerate human decision-making, they do not replace it: the use of weapons always requires human authorisation, outside the cognitive perimeter.

  • And we believe pace is part of capability:

we develop at the pace of the threat, not the pace of the paperwork — without lowering a single qualification standard.

Our pillars

Miriad's working model is built on 6 main pillars:

01. Vertical integration

Every critical layer of the system (mechanics, electronics, software, intelligence) is developed and controlled within the group: the design of platforms and subsystems, the mission electronics from Miriad Electronics, the mission intelligence of the LynksSuite, and integration and manufacturing at our own facilities.

Vertical integration lets us answer to the customer throughout the systems' life cycle, with no external dependencies conditioning the evolution, the cost or the availability of the capability.

A modernisation programme acquires industrial capability: the ability to produce, evolve and sustain systems on national territory throughout the two decades of their life cycle.

MIRIAD structures that capability on three of its own production units, the research support of Funditec and a scale-up model based on co-production with Spanish industrial partners — with the intellectual property, the supply chain and the skilled jobs anchored in Spain.

  • Miriad Intelligence

The group's artificial intelligence division: the AI hub, the MiriadAI cognitive layer and its application to in-house subsystems and third-party platforms.

02. Full-cycle sovereignty

Miriad designs its platforms and subsystems, develops its mission electronics at Miriad Electronics, writes its mission software and autonomy layer, manufactures and integrates at its own facilities in Spain, and retains intellectual property across all its co-production programs.

The consequence is a full-cycle sovereign capability: the system can be produced, evolved and sustained on national territory throughout the two decades of its service life, with no external dependencies in the critical layers (electronics, software and intelligence).

03. Scale-up and sustainment

At Miriad we are able to scale up production through an open co-production model with Spanish industrial partners.

  • The group provides the systems architecture, the electronics, the software and the intellectual property.
  • The network provides qualified manufacturing capacity.

The result is speed of scale-up without giving up design control, and a sustainment base distributed across national territory throughout the system's life cycle.

Miriad's industrial scale-up programmes

  • Miriad-Ferrimax programme

Catalonia · 10,000 m² · armour and assembly

Co-production with Ferrimax, which dedicates 10,000 m² in Catalonia to armour production: the armoured hulls of the Land Systems family and the armoured enclosures of the deployable protected infrastructures. The model: the industrial partner provides specialised manufacturing; Miriad provides the hull design and receives the armoured hull for integration, and the intellectual property remains with Miriad.

  • Platform assembly plant

    Advanced negotiation · 12,000 m²

Miriad is at an advanced stage of negotiation to establish a 12,000 m² plant dedicated to the final assembly and integration of the Land Systems family platforms.

  • Infrastructure assembly plant

Sant Fost de Campsentelles (Barcelona) · planned · 4,000 m²

Planned joint venture between Miriad Global and Ferrimax (Miriad Ferrimax Infrastructures) for deployable protected infrastructures: command posts, surveillance and counter-drone defence, and protected logistics. The assembly and integration plant is being developed in Sant Fost de Campsentelles. Ferrimax provides the armoured enclosure and protected manufacturing; Miriad provides the systems architecture and the intellectual property, which stays within the group.

  • Open co-production model

Miriad's business model is designed to scale production capabilities in each country through co-production with specialised industrial partners, combined with the production of mission subsystems and electronics in the group's own plants. New industrial programmes will be announced at their own milestones.

04. Innovation ecosystem

  • APPLIED RESEARCH

Miriad relies on Fundación Funditec -its reference shareholder- as its applied research engine: the connection with technology centres and universities feeds the critical subsystems of Miriad Engineering and Miriad Electronics before they reach product stage.

  • EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL PROGRAMMES

European and national funding programmes (European Defence Fund, CDTI, Ministry of Defence) are not merely a source of credit: they are the mechanism by which research in electronics, mission AI and materials becomes a qualified subsystem and, later, a series-production platform.

  • INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS

That transfer is completed by Spanish industrial partners providing specialised manufacturing under an open co-production model: Miriad retains the design, the mission subsystems and the intellectual property; the partner provides production capacity.

  • PRODUCT TRANSFER

The result is an ecosystem where innovation neither stays in the laboratory nor depends on a single supplier — it travels from the research centre to the production line, on national territory.

05. Job creation

Miriad brings on engineering talent on a continuous basis at its sites in Madrid, Getafe, San Fernando de Henares and Málaga. If you want to build sovereign defense capability from Spain, write to us at talento@miriad.es .

Building sovereign defence capability demands the best national talent, and the group's industrial project creates skilled jobs with every programme that starts. Those jobs are not concentrated in a single site: each location settles technical population in its region and anchors capabilities (mechatronics, mission electronics, embedded software) that Spain had been losing to the offshoring of the defence industry.

Every programme that scales up also scales the national suppliers that manufacture it, not just Miriad's own workforce.

National suppliers

Every programme that scales up pulls along the Spanish industrial partners that manufacture it (not just Miriad's own workforce).

Recovering capabilities

Mechatronics, mission electronics and embedded software, anchored once again on national territory after years of offshoring.

Training

Continuous hiring tied to programmes under way, with knowledge transfer from senior engineering to every new joiner.

06. Quality, qualification and interoperability

  • Quality assurance

Quality management system certified to PECAL/AQAP 2110, the Defence quality assurance standard.

  • Qualification

Environmental and equipment ruggedness qualification plan compliant with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.

  • Interoperability

Design compliant with STANAG 4569 for protection levels and STANAG 4586 for unmanned systems control, with tactical data links to NATO standards.
