RECONOCIMIENTO AVANZADO
Forward recon
Persistent eyes at the leading edge, with the tactical picture reaching command in real time.
01.Operational problem
Reconnaissance is the first casualty of the transparent battlefield. Manned scout units today operate under the permanent observation of adversary sensors and drones: gathering information at the leading edge means placing crews in the front's most lethal zone. At the same time, the value of that information expires within minutes. The sensor-to-decision-to-effect cycle has compressed to the point where the value of reconnaissance is decided in the minutes it takes to reach command.
Miriad takes the scout out of the vehicle: unmanned platforms that advance ahead of the force, observe persistently, classify what they see on board, and deliver actionable intelligence to command — keeping crews out of range of the first shot and multiplying dwell time over the area of interest.
02.Systems, components, technology and intelligence involved:
-
Taurus Recon
Compact medium class 6×6 platform (2.20 × 4.20 × 1.65 m · 4–6 T), the primary reconnaissance variant of the Miriad Land Systems family
-
Falcon-T
Tactical support UAV, the vehicle's organic aerial sensor: day and night observation, extended situational awareness and support to teleoperation.
-
KAIROS
Miriad Engineering's drone ISR system: precision electro-optics carried by the observation UAS.
-
C2
Command and control: sensor-to-command integration common to every mission in the family.
-
SAIS 360°
Perimeter perception around the platform for immediate situational awareness.
03.Operational architecture
-
DETECT
Persistent observation
TAURUS RECON deploys advanced optronic observation and 360° perimeter perception at the leading edge; the FALCON T aerial layer extends the horizon beyond the direct line of sight.
-
Decide
Intelligence at the edge
Onboard-assisted classification and sensor fusion integrated with the command post over the C2 link: the tactical picture is built at the edge, not in the rear.
-
Act
Designation and hand-off
Targets are handed off to organic fire units or to other family capabilities — Fire Support and Deep Strike — closing the cycle in minutes, not hours.

Intelligence04.Program status
Pre-production prototyping
TAURUS is in pre-production prototyping, presented institutionally in May 2026. FALCON T is in development.
The intelligence generated here feeds target designation for Fire Support and the deep-strike intelligence picture for Deep Strike. The platform shares its architecture with TAURUS XL.
