SEGURIDAD DE ÁREA

Area security · Persistent protection of bases, routes and critical infrastructure

Sensors, UGVs, UAS and C-UAS deployed as a persistent network to watch perimeters, routes and critical nodes with a lighter personnel footprint.

01.Operational problem

Protecting bases, logistics corridors, airfields, critical infrastructure and deployed forces against hybrid threats — infiltration, sabotage, UAS, perimeter probing — demands persistent coverage that ties down a large number of personnel. The problem is sustaining that protection with fewer people, without giving up continuous surveillance of the perimeter, routes and critical nodes.

Miriad deploys a persistent network of sensors, UGVs, UAS and C-UAS covering perimeters, routes and critical nodes with autonomous patrol and alerting, freeing personnel for the response. Unlike air surveillance, which looks upward against the air threat, Area Security covers the ground perimeter, routes, infiltration, depots, command posts and logistics nodes.

02.Systems, components, technology and intelligence involved:

  • ARIES

Light platform for patrol and C-UAS support of the perimeter.

  • TAURUS RECON

Reconnaissance and sensing node for routes and critical nodes.

  • MFI VIPER

Fixed, autonomous electronic warfare and perimeter protection tower: frequency scanning, C-UAS and multi-sensor fusion for permanent situational awareness of bases, depots and critical nodes

  • MER1 / MER2

Portable counter-drone effectors for the dismounted echelon and site protection.

  • FALCON-D

Persistent aerial overwatch of the area and the routes.

  • C2

Command supervises the persistent network and authorises the response.

03.Operational architecture

  1. DETECT

    Persistent network

Distributed sensors, ARIES and TAURUS RECON patrols and FALCON-D overwatch detect perimeter activity, infiltration and UAS threats.

  2. Decide

    Alert and classification

The picture is fused at the command post: automatic alerting and threat classification; command decides the response.

  3. Act

    Patrol and interdiction

Autonomous patrol, designation and C-UAS interdiction with the MER effectors, under human authorization.

04.Program status

Program in development

Area Security combines sensors and platforms from the family into a persistent protection network; concept of employment in development, 2026.

Complements Air Surveillance and Counter-Drone — which covers the air threat — with protection of the ground perimeter, routes and critical nodes, drawing on the ecosystem's distributed command and control.
