HORN30

30×113 mm remote weapon station · Remote Weapon Station

A 30×113 mm remote weapon station designed from the ground up for unmanned platforms: the family's organic terminal layer for direct fire and counter-drone, with AI-assisted tracking and firing always under human authorization.

Overview

HORN30 is Miriad Engineering's remote weapon station: a single-feed 30×113 mm electric autocannon, designed from the ground up for unmanned integration rather than adapted from a manned turret. Miriad supplies the station, the fire control and the integration into the platform. It is the family's organic terminal effector: the last line of direct fire at perimeter range, sitting below the larger-caliber, longer-range effectors of the V/SHORAD layer.

It is built for close-range direct fire, counter-FPV defense and reaction against mini-UAS and low-altitude air threats, and it also engages infantry, light vehicles, exposed positions and support teams. Its AI-assisted tracking locks onto fast targets, but the firing decision is always human: every shot requires explicit authorization from the operator at the remote station.

Fire control
Onboard HORN30 via integrated EO sight · CHRONOS provides identification and hand-off · firing under human authorization

CHRONOS designates · HORN30 executes · the operator authorizes

  • CHRONOS identifies, localizes and hands the target off to the effector.
  • HORN30 executes the fire with its integrated fire control and electro-optical sight.
  • Every shot requires explicit authorization from the operator at the remote station: neutralization always stays within the human chain of command.

The terminal layer

In layered counter-drone defense, the 30 mm caliber is the high-rate-of-fire, short-range layer against low-cost swarms, while larger-caliber effectors hold the longer-range layer. HORN30 occupies the close terminal layer: the last organic line at perimeter range, below the upper-layer effectors. Against jet-powered variants, terminal engagement remains possible within the gun's envelope when altitude and reaction time allow a viable firing solution.
