SAIS
Intelligent situational awareness suite · Situational-Awareness Suite
The layer that gives the platform permanent perception of its surroundings: passive event detection, acoustic-pattern classification and onboard multi-sensor fusion that sustain surveillance even with degraded visibility, under electronic warfare, and amid drone saturation.
Overview
SAIS is Miriad's intelligent situational-awareness suite: the layer that gives each platform permanent perception of its immediate surroundings. It brings together passive event detection, acoustic-pattern detection and classification, and onboard multi-sensor fusion, presenting the result as operator assistance. Built on the vehicle's perimeter cameras, SAIS sustains environmental surveillance even with degraded visibility, under electronic-warfare pressure, and amid drone saturation.
With SAIS, the platform is no longer limited to receiving orders and delivering fire: it permanently monitors its immediate surroundings, shares the tactical picture with the rest of the grouping, and helps sustain the maneuver under high uncertainty. It's the difference between an armed vehicle and a node that contributes awareness to the whole force.
Capabilities
- 360° perimeter perception
- Passive event detection
- Acoustic-pattern classification
- Onboard multi-sensor fusion
- Operator assistance
- Surveillance in degraded visibility
- Operation under EW pressure
- Tactical-picture sharing
What it does · fusion within the vehicle itself
-
Events
Passive detection
It identifies events in the surroundings without emitting, keeping its signature to a minimum.
-
Acoustics
Acoustic patterns
It detects and classifies acoustic signatures, including when the threat is not yet visible.
-
Fusion
Multi-sensor
It combines perimeter cameras and onboard sensors into a single picture of the surroundings.
-
Operator
Assistance
It presents the situation already prioritised and reduces the decision load under saturation.

Integration
SAIS integrates into the family's platforms and works over their perimeter cameras; the resulting picture travels over LYNKS, the command, control and mission-software layer, out to the rest of the grouping. On RHINOS, it's the layer that turns a fire-support vehicle into a node that, beyond fighting, maintains awareness of its surroundings and shares it.
